Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources held a meeting headed by H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, with Emirates NBD, headed by Fouad Al Shaibani, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, at Al Dafin Building in the Directorate, in the presence of Abdulla Al Zaabi, Director of Branches Affairs, Ali Abdul Razzaq, Marketing Specialist at Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources and Elodie [Tairraz], Marketing Director at Emirates NBD, in order to discuss the ways of cooperation between both parties to support Emiratisation and enable people with disabilities to integrate in the workplace.
H.E. Dr. Tariq Bin Khadim, started the meeting with praising the efforts made by Emirates NBD in raising the employment rates of nationals and supporting Emiratisation. He emphasised that the empowerment of human resources forms a very important strategy and a high priority that the efforts of the Government of Sharjah should focus on, following the wise directions of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, calling for the implementation of all initiatives that fall in the interest of the cadres and competencies of the national human wealth.
His Excellency praised the constructive efforts made by the banking sector in the UAE and particularly Emirates NBD since its establishment, and its efforts in prioritising training and education of national cadres, in order to qualify them and attract them to work in the private sector. This confirms their awareness of shared responsibility and their support as main partners in the human capital empowerment system in the State, which meets the aspirations of the wise leaders.
H.E. then talked about the efforts of the Government of Sharjah in qualifying, training and employing nationals with disabilities in the various sectors of the Government of Sharjah. He emphasised on the continuous call to enhance social responsibility towards the employment of this important society segment and the encouragement of government and private institutions and companies to adopt initiatives supporting their employment and empowerment. He pointed out that the Directorate puts the people with disabilities among its priorities, to work continuously on strengthening cooperation with parties in both the government and private sectors, in order to provide them with career integration opportunities. He also praised the efforts and accomplishments of the people with disabilities who have proven their worth in all the work sectors they joined, and praised the efforts of Emirates NBD in supporting the employment of people with disabilities, providing them with suitable job opportunities and allocating budget to support this orientation that the Government of Sharjah is calling for.
Dr. Tariq Bin Khadim talked as well about the efforts of the Directorate in providing a special section for career marketing, aiming to create and find job opportunities for Nationals and supporting the process of Emiratisation in the private sector, as the Directorate owns a large database that includes job seekers, whether new graduates or persons experienced in all disciplines.
H.E. affirmed that the Directorate is fully prepared to qualify and train the bank employees that will be appointed by the Directorate even after they join the work according to the required programmes. He clarified the importance of the integrative role between the Directorate and the various government or private establishments, and the importance of coordinating and unifying efforts to support the efforts and strategies of Emiratisation, in order to achieve an optimal investment in human resources.
For his part, Fouad Al Shaibani, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Emirates NBD, stated that throughout the economic and social development led by the bank all over several years, the banking sector witnessed unprecedented growth. He confirmed the importance of qualifying national experiences and competencies in this sector and the role of officials and stakeholders in prioritising Emiratisation and continuing the implementation of Emiratisation in all accuracy and transparency in order to increase the Emiratisation ratios at banks.
For her part, Elodie [Tairraz], Marketing Manager at Emirates NBD, stated that there are more than 47 branches for the bank in the UAE and they all integrate people with disabilities with the employees. She also pointed out to the efforts made by the bank to support the employment of people with disabilities and their integration in the work sectors.
